Grant Griffiths writing at Blog For Profit yesterday wrote about small businesses who tend to overlook Social Media. It’s well worth a ready, so check it out here.
This reminds me again that small and big businesses face different problems when it comes to Social Media:
- Big business has budget, but is slow and hard to move. In a fast moving industry like Social Media, it’s hard to stay ahead, so when a big brand does it right, you have to realise what an accomplishment that is.
- Small business might not have budget, but it can move quickly. In fact I don’t think a large budget is needed for local Social Media to succeed. The issue for small local business is to be creative about engaging their community. It is too easy to over populate your pool – especially when you are sticking to only one social network.
Just a thought!
